HCL announced the possibility of a Sovereign Cloud at @engage and a new article I received today from cio.de is making a Souvereign Cloud more important than ever before.

In this article the “facts” of American Cloud Providers that data hosted in their datacenters in Europe stay in Europe are blown up and there also is a link to an official hearing in the French parliament where Anton Carniaux ( Head of Justice of Microsoft France ) had to admit that Microsoft is not able to prevent the access to data stored in European datacenters to the US government when a request is “well phrased”.

And I think that we all know who is deciding if a request is official 😉
